Our Links with Church and School

St. Jude’s Church Nursery is part of St. Jude’s Church’s mission in Southsea offering subsidised places to families of all faiths and none. We are also closely linked to St. Jude’s Primary School.

We have regular visits from clergy and staff from St Jude’s Church in which they share stories and songs with the children. We celebrate Christmas with our Nativity play, which is performed for the parents and have an Easter celebration which is again attended by families.

The Nursery

Our Management Team

The Nursery is owned and run by St. Jude’s Church Southsea. It is overseen by a Nursery School Management Committee comprising of members of the Church PCC, Treasurer and Nursery Leaders. We also welcome parents as helpers, giving them the opportunity to help on a regular basis in one of the groups within the nursery.

Tash Whittle

I am the manager and safeguarding lead for the Nursery having worked here for over 10 years.

During my time here I have completed my Level 2 and Level 3 diplomas in Young People’s Workforce, a foundation degree in Early Years Leadership and am currently studying for my BA (Hons) Childhood and Education Studies. I have worked across all the age groups whilst here and was a Room Leader for many years.

I became a Mum in 2023 so am fully aware of the current challenges facing working parents with young children.

Helen Campbell

I am the deputy manager and have worked at the setting for 20 years. I am married to Jim and have 4 adult children and 1 granddaughter. I really enjoy the variety of work and meeting lots of different children and families, every day is different and it’s a privilege to be a part of each child’s development and growth. I have lots of experience working in different groups and I’m currently room leader in the Stars group (2 year olds).
